The turkey is gone, but the memories are still there.
Happy Late Thanksgiving Everyone! :)
Otaku Otaku Oct 31 2009-
Okay, so a friend recently made a complaint to me that in my last update I used the word "otaku" where I should have used "gamer". This is in reference to clarifying the name of the catgirl character Felicia being cosplayed in the pictures used in my last update, and I used the word otaku for anyone who would have complained if I didn't make the clarification.
Now for those that don't know the word "otaku", it's basically a Japanese word used for "nerd". In America, it's more commonly used to refer to an anime fan, which is the stem of the argument. He felt that because the catgirl Felicia is a video game character and not an anime character, I shouldn't have use otaku to describe her fans.
The thing is though, as I said before, the word really means "nerd". Most definitions found for the word Otaku is meant to describe someone who is obsessed with anime, internet, and video games. So that, along side that the animation of Darkstalkers (the video game in which Felicia is from) uses anime style artwork, I'm sticking to what I said. :)
What's this have to do with anything though...IDK ^_^
Anyway, while I haven't pulled the camera out on anything yet, I'm looking to return to my video making ways. Only thing is I'm suffering some writers block, and having some trouble coming up with some creative idea that can be done on a poor man's budget. V_V
However, I'm talking with some people to share ideas with get some stuff going, so things are still shaking.
Also Mark and I have been talking, and the ideas have started pouring out for an AMVA2. :)
But that's it for now. I'm out guys...Have a Happy Halloween!

So After 2 Years... Oct 24 2009-
...I'm still the #2 ranked images for Otakon on Google.
I just find it funny, especially since I've only been to Otakon once...and because I'm not the only person to get that picture...
Yep, that's Gordon of AnimeJutsu.com with the same catgirls (Felicia for those otakus) in the same formation at the same convention. Yes, my picture beat out the man with the website mostly dedicated to convention cosplay pictures. :) (Just joking with you Gordon).
But hey, I like the picture, and it always leads to more advertisements for the site, so it's all good with me. Speaking of which, this is probably the first update I've done in...2 MONTHS! Yea, think I was saying something awhile back about more updates and yadda yadda.
Well the new job ended up being more distracting then I originally thought it would, and due to working some unusual hours, I've been finding it hard to just gather with friends and work on ideas, but I'm trying. I'm even considering going to go in a different direction with the site...kind of.
Where as before I've looked at the site as more of a business type thing, I'm going to start treating it with a more personal touch in mind.
In the end, I don't think it will lead to much of a change in the direction the site goes. It's just something, as least in my own mind, to encourage me to contribute more time to the site with updates. Whether the updates are more of a blog form, or throwing up those stories and videos I love to do. I might make some format changes as well, and give a much needed update to certain applications operating the site, but I'm not rushing that aspect.
Either way, that's it...hoping to give some more updates soon. Till then, have a good one guys...

Long Awaited Update... Aug 11 2009-
Hey, guys...been a long time since my last update I guess.
Well since AnimeNEXT, life for me got busy in a hurry as a landed a full-time job. Got myself a regular paycheck and etc, but it has also left me with little free-time. I've been pretty much constantly working, or recooperating, so it hasn't lead to many updates here at JerseyCowboy.net. Though things at work look like they may start settling down soon, and might leave me with a little more time to work on new stuff with.
Till then though, I wanted to give a shout out for a film made by the good people at Words Pictures Movies called "Everything Fred Tells Me is True"...
AnimeNEXT 2009 Dance is here... Jun 18 2009-
After cutting it up and shrinking it down, I finally got the AnimeNEXT 2009 Dance online. Check it out below and in the Video section under "Fun Videos"...

AnimeNEXT and Aftermath Jun 17 2009-
Well first, lets get to what I've been promising and get up that AnimeNEXT 2006 footage...
It's actually been uploaded for a week now, but I've been so busy that it slipped my mind to post it here. ^^'
Now that were's done with2006, lets get to AnimeNEXT 2009...
Was actually a REALLY great weekend. I'm honestly liking the new location, which give up alot more space for certain events, and alot nicer places to film. I ended up spending most of the weekend in Main Events doing video Events like Cosplay Masquerade the Cosplay Burlesque. I got some video too for the Rav...er, Dance...and some other stuff which I might post later.
AN 2006 footage once again delayed. Jun 09 2009-
With AnimeNEXT 2009 less than a week away, I decided to try and get all the AnimeNEXT 2006 up for you guys to enjoy. However, my computer doesn't want to cooperate with me in this process. T_T
I am still working on it and trying to see if I can pull off a miricle by today or tomorrow, but I'm going to say right now that the footage might now be up till after this weekend. I will make sure that the Otakon 2007 footage is quick to follow though to prevent anymore delays, and if I run across the CPAC 2008 footage I'll do the same.
Old Videos... Jun 07 2009-
Something I just ran across on Vitaly's Youtube page...an old short made between me, Vitaly, and Mark. I honestly didn't really think much of it (expecially since it was ment as a skit in a failed show we were working on), but I really do like it. Check it out...
Everything JT Tells Me Could Be The Truth May 21 2009-
So yea, if you're wondering about todays News title, it's just stealing it from "Everything Fred Tells Me is The Truth" which is an up and coming film by the good people at Words Pictures Movies. I'm joining the crew during the filming next month, so while it's not JCnet film, I might give some updates here and there on it.
Otherwise, alot has been going on...some good...some bad. I won't get into it all, but I'm trying to make my way back to some new videos.
First, I want to address the Anime Convention footage. I keep delaying it but I promise whether it's this week or next month, the footage is coming. I'm going to change around my scheduling a bit with it though, and try to get up AnimeNEXT '06 followed by Otakon '07, and sometime down the line from that I'll get up CPAC '08.
Next, it seems there was a video I worked on last year and forgot all about. It was a quick short, but needed some voice overs which we weren't really equipped for at the time. I'm still a little low on equipment for sound, but we're a little better now and I'm going to try and get that done soon.
Other than that, the summer is here and I've got a little more free time than in the past. I don't know what to work on yet, but I'm itching to do some stuff so look out for more in the future.
Updates For You's! May 08 2009-
IDK, I'm just sicks of writing news subjects that make sense...
Anyway, I just loaded 2 new videos from Bladeclaw Productions in the video section. "The Sound" which is a nice little short, and a spoof on the Angry Video Game Nerd vs. Nostalgia Critic: Final Battle from last year. I have to be honest, I like alot of the AVGN vs NC Spoof, but it really does drag on at times. It's been a regular comment to Vitaly about the pacing of the video, but we're not sure if he'll ever get a re-edit out. Still, the video has ALOT of great moments in it. If you ever find it to drag, just fast foward by a minute or 2...trust me, there is stuff in the video you don't want to miss.
Other than that, I've honestly returned a bit to my procrastinating ways. I shot video 2 weeks ago to make a promo video for some friends, but honestly have not wanted to touch it since. I'm starting to feel bored with shooting video for live events as I tend to have no purpose for it afterwards, and honestly don't feel like doing it. I got more into video as a medium of telling stories, and I'm doing my best to try and get back in that direction. Still though, just because I don't like breaking promises, I will still be loading old anime convention footage onto the site. I'll be getting around to that hopefully next week.
On a personal note, I've been invited to help out a independent film being shot in my area. It's called "Everything Fred Tells Me is True", and shooting is currently set to start in June. As someone who's really been itching to work on a film, and meet fellow filmmakers in my area, I'm very excited. I may keep updates on the project as it continues.
